Clay Pigeon Shooting

Shaldon Shooting School is set in a deep valley on the edge of Exmoor, offering coaching for individuals or groups of up to 30 people. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome. Equipment is supplied and there are plenty of instructors. They can even send someone out to meet you so you don’t get lost in the lanes on the way!

Birds Hill Days

Birds Hill Days offers a unique opportunity to experience country activities in the beautiful surroundings of 170 acres of the Exmoor National Park. Activities include clay and pistol shooting, archery and laser clay shooting.

Langford Lakes

Offering four lakes with a choice of carp, mixed, roach and perch, Langford Lakes is set in 30 acres of nordman fir plantation and is an ideal spot for beginners and the more experienced angler.

Day at the Races?

Why not treat yourselves to a day at the races? Taunton Racecourse in Somerset, is England's youngest National Hunt racecourse and one of the most beautifully located racecourses in the country, with outstanding views across the Racecourse to the wooded slopes of the Blackdown Hills, yet only a few minutes drive from the M5 and the centre of Taunton.

Set in a stunning location overlooking beautiful Devon countryside, Exeter Racecourse prides itself as being one of the UK’s most progressive tracks, with excellent facilities and transport links to match competitive racing throughout the National Hunt Season. Exeter holds 15 great jump fixtures between October and May each year, with November’s Haldon Gold Cup Day, New Year’s Day racing, Children's Day and Ladies Night amongst the ever-popular highlights.  Accompanied children aged 17 and under can come racing for free.

For 14-17 years they must be a competent rider.
For 17 years upwards must be a reasonable novice.
